Ruth E. Patton

Ruth E. Patton, 89, of Strasburg and formerly of Dover and Atwood Lake died Wednesday, November 2, 2005 in her home following a one year illness.

She had previously been an employee of Snyder Mfg. Company in Dover and also formerly worked for the Shenango Company during World War II and the former Urfer Printing and Seibert Printing companies both of Dover.

Born February 4, 1916 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Elnora Loeffler Capper.

Ruth was a member of the First Moravian Church in Dover. She was also a 50 yr. member of the Dover VFW Auxiliary. She was formerly active in the Girls Scouts and PTA. She enjoyed bird watching, crocheting and reading.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Marion “Pat” Patton with whom she would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on December 1; She is also survived by a daughter and son in law Christie and Dick Barnhouse of Strasburg; nieces and nephews, Jeanne Marie (Dr. Phil) Goldberg of Arizona, Joyce Barton, Tom Patton, Elaine Scatizzi, Dean Patton, Beverly Hahn, James C. Patton, John H. Patton, and Debbie Conner; a sister in law, Lois Patton of Dover.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Christian Loeffler Capper and Philip Henry Capper along with two nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services celebrating Ruth�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Rev. Al Bergmann officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7pm.
