Ruth E. Schneider, 85, of Dover, died Thursday, May 6, 2004, in Hennis Care Centre, Dover, following a brief illness.
Born Mar. 13, 1919, in Canton, she was a daughter of the late John and Wanda Kunst Maier. Ruth was a 1937 graduate of McKinley High School and attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and Canton Actual Business College, all of Canton. She was a loving homemaker, and volunteered for over thirty-four years at Union Hospital, Dover.
Ruth was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ, Dover. She enjoyed playing the organ, crocheting and embroidering.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, Alvin “Biff” Schneider, whom she married Nov. 27, 1941, in the First Lutheran Church, Canton; three daughters, Carol Jean Cull of Columbus, Marjorie (Terry) Jensen of Chula Vista, CA, and Susan (Joe) Domer of Fishers, IN; six grandchildren, Brian Cull of Phoenix, AZ, Melinda Cull of Columbus, Jason Jensen of Chula Vista, Karen Domer of Chicago, IL, and Kenneth and Kevin Domer, both of Fishers.
In addition to her parents, a sister and three brothers preceded her in death.
A funeral service celebrating Ruth�(TM)s life will be held Monday, May 10, at 10 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park.
