Ruth E. "June" Hartline, 92, of New Philadelphia, Ohio died suddenly Thursday evening, Sept. 13, 2012 in Union Hospital at Dover.
June was born June 28, 1920 in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Custer) Cunniff. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hartline on Feb. 14, 1982 along with her son, G. Joseph Hartline and brother, Joe Conniff.
June proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy (Waves) during World War II as Pharmacist Mate 1st Class and received the WW 2 Victory Medal and the American Theatre Ribbon. She received her Registered Nursing degree from South Highland School of Nursing and also attended Birmingham Southern College and Malone College.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia and was a life member of the Navarre VFW. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and always placed them first in her life.
She will be sadly missed by her children Bob (Denise) Hartline of Strasburg, Mary (John) Hershberger and Elizabeth "Libby" Taylor both of New Philadelphia and Jody (Roger) Cline of Beach City; grandchildren, Natasha Hartline, Lexi (Ryan) Palmer, Joshua (Anna) Hershberger, MacKenzie (Francisco) Lux-Perez, Nicholas Hershberger, Kim Taylor, Olivia Taylor Pompey, Justin Cline, and Laura Cline (fianc Jared Durant) . Great grandchildren Hunter, Cole, Garret, Alex, Isaiah, Gabriel, Christian, Audrey, Lexi, Trevor, and Clayton.
Pastor Brian Flood and the Dover VFW will honor her at a private graveside service in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Glenn.
