Ruth I. Harding, 83, of Funk Rd. N.W., New Philadelphia, Ohio died Sunday, March 19, 2006 in Amberwood Manor following a period of declining health.
Ruth was a Registered Nurse having retired from Massillon City Hospital. She was also a former missionary in Africa and New Mexico.
Born June 30, 1922 in Strasburg, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Christina Yackey Harding.
Ruth was a member of the Crooked Run United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia and a former member of the Massillon United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of the Massillon City Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading and sewing.
She is survived by two sisters, Doris Stucky of New Philadelphia and Mary West of Dalton along with several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, June Specht and Martha Harstine and three brothers, Warren, Don and Raymond (Gene) Harding.
Private family graveside services will be held Saturday in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg.
A public memorial service honoring Ruth�(TM)s life will be held Sunday, April 9, 2006 at 2pm in the Faith United Methodist Church in Dover with Pastor George Reichman officiating.
