Ruth L. Bean

Ruth L. Bean, 90, died on Friday, May 1, 2009 in Titusville, Florida.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 13, 1918, she was the daughter of the late F. Earl and Edith Garton McFarland.

On September 20, 1941, she married her husband Howard Bean. She and Howard were the former owner and operator of Bean's Grocery in New Philadelphia. Howard preceded Ruth in death on August 15, 2005.

Ruth was a born again Christian and became a member of the First Christian Church in New Philadelphia. She enjoyed spending time with all of her friends at the local senior center.

She will be sadly missed by her two sons; Robert (Sarah) Bean and Edward (NaHanan) Bean both of Florida; her nine grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; as well as her brother, Charles McFarland.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in Florida.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:30 pm at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia with Pastor Jim Borton officiating. Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in New Philadelphia on Saturday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Those attending calling hours will leave in procession to the cemetery for the 2:30 graveside service. Following the service, family and friends are invited back to the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center for a meal and time of fellowship.
