Ruth L. "Woodie" Gribben

Ruth L. "Woodie" Gribben, 87, of Dover died Thursday, December 5, 2013 in the Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.

Born April 7, 1926 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Carl and Hilda Roth Beitzel. Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John T. Gribben on August 24, 1994; brothers, Kenny and Bob Beitzel and sister, Audrey Harmon.

Ruth retired from the Dover Buehlers after 22 years of service and had also worked at the Kitchen Corner Deli. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover and the Uhrichsville Church of the Nazarene. Ruth was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother who loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed and appreciated all the small and routine aspects of her life.

Ruth will be sadly missed by her children, Lorreen (Gary) Trucinski of Illinois, Toni (Tom) Crowell of Dover, Kenneth (Paula) Gribben of Dover and Holly (Michael) Barnes of Arkansas; nine grandchildren, three step grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 9 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Mike Travis officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends can call at the funeral home one-hour prior to the service on Monday.
