Ruth M. Wise, 91, of Mineral City, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Morning View Care Center, New Philadelphia.
Born Sept. 12, 1912, in Cameron West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late William and Blanche Ingram Hewitt. Ruth married Andrew E. Wise on Mar. 2, 1929, and the couple moved to Tuscarawas County. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Ruth was a member of the First Church of the Brethren, New Philadelphia; she also attended Roxford United Methodist Church, Dennison. She was a member of the Fairfield Grange. Ruth enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables and flowers.
Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine Jenkins of New Philadelphia, Mary (Jerry) Sheeley of Uhrichsville, and Doris Byer of Zoarville; a son, Andrew (Blondie) Wise, Jr. of Mineral City; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Reva Hewitt of Tridelphia, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, on Jan. 1, 1964; three sisters and three brothers.
Ruth�(TM)s life will be celebrated in a service Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 246 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, with Pastors Max Canfield and Henry E. Mooney officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park, New Philadelphia. Following the committal, there will be a reception in the First Church of the Brethren.
