Ryan Patrick Houk

Ryan Patrick Houk, 41, of Dover passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 29, 2020.


Born in Canton on September 18, 1979, he was the son of the late Kerry K. Houk and Cathy Walsh. He graduated with the class of 1997 from Tusky Valley High School and later attended Bowling Green State University and Kent State.


Ryan was very artistic and enjoyed creative writing and filmmaking. He was a producer on the reality TV show Bristol Palin.


On October 25, 2019, he married Abigail Mastin. Earlier this week the couple celebrated their one-year anniversary.


In addition to his wife Abigail, he leaves behind his mother, Cathy (Patrick) Trumble of Massillon; sister, Allison Miller of Bolivar; father and mother-in-law, Steve and Becky Mastin of Dover; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Emily Lane of Dover; nieces and nephew, Alivia and Alaina of Bolivar, and Lucas, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Addison all of Dover; his maternal grandmother, Lucretia M. Walsh of Canton; two aunts, Barb Walsh (Tony) and Betsy Lloyd all of Canton.


He was preceded in death by many members of his paternal family.
