S. Marie Moser, 95, died Sunday, June 10, 2007 in Hennis Care Center at Bolivar.
Born August 17, 1911, at Hohenwald, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha Grover Graves. She moved to Dover when she was 9 and graduated from Dover High School in 1930. On December 2 of that year, she and Alvin C. Moser were united in marriage in the parsonage of Grace Lutheran Church in Dover, where they were members. They observed their 68th wedding anniversary shortly before Alvin died on Jan. 8, 1999.
Marie�(TM)s family was the most important thing in her life. She love to sew and made many dresses for weddings and other occasions. In addition, she enjoyed quilting, cooking baking, gardening, crocheting, knitting and reading.
She was a member of the Penobscot Homemakers, and with other members of the group, she mended clothes for residents of Hennis Care Center in Dover for a number of years. For more than 25 years, she was an advisor for the Ruslin Hills Stitcherettes 4-H group.
Marie is survived by four daughters, Doris (Merlyn) Keener of Bolivar, Carol (Duane) Allison of New Philadelphia, Peggy (Joe) Osburn of Parma, Janet (Scott) Robinson of Cleveland Heights, two sons; Alvin (Frances) Moser of Dover and David (Cherry) of Springfield, Virginia a sister; Nellie Dummermuth of Chandler Arizona, a brother; Carl Graves of Dover, two sister-in-laws; Charlotte Graves of Dover and Mary Hadorn of New Philadelphia, 24 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter; Jane Liotti, a grandson; Ronald Moser and two brothers; Russell and William Graves.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Grace Lutheran Church in Dover with Pastor Jim Lewis and Marlin Drake officiating. A grandson, Deacon Mark Allison will also participate. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 from 5-8 at the Toland Herzig Funeral Home in Dover and from 10-11:00 on Thursday at the Church. Interment will be in Dover Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a luncheon will take place at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 216, N. Wooster Ave, Dover, Ohio 44622, or to the charity of one�(TM)s choice.
