Sally Marburger Secrest

Sally J. (Marburger) Secrest, 71, of Dover died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 in Aultman Hospital in Canton following her battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Born May 17, 1944 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Merle W. and Ruth (Harper) Marburger. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by a son, Todd, a brother, Larry and a brother in law, Fred Clugston.

She was a retired receptionist at Hennis Care Centre in Dover where she worked for 18 years. She had previously been the office manager at Bazzoli Trucking in Dover.

Sally was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ at Dover where she previously taught Sunday school. She was an active member of the Tuscarawas County YMCA and its Silver Sneakers program and the Healthplex at Union Hospital. She was a 1962 graduate of Dover High School. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished her grandchildren with whom she was privileged to reside. She loved attending her sons and grandchildren's sporting events.

She will be sadly missed by her family including her two sons, Jeff (Hanna) Secrest of Dover and Mark (Amanda) Secrest of Strasburg; her grandchildren, Sofia and Jeffery along with a brother, Keith (Kathy) Marburger of Dover and sisters, Brenda Clugston of Canton and Beth Marburger of Columbus, a sister in law, June Marburger and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 beginning at 1:30pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Rev. Thomas Dunkle officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will follow at the St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8pm.
