Samuel A. Sayre II, 41, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, August 22, 2009
in the Twin City Hospital at Dennison following a canoeing accident.
Sam had been employed at Zimmer in Dover for over 20 years.
Born August 31, 1967 in Dover he was a son of Samuel A. and Betty Savage
Sayre of Strasburg.
Sam was a devoted husband and father who was well known for his loving
kindness and his big smile. He enjoyed reading, music and astronomy, but
he loved baseball especially watching his son play. Sam was also a car
buff, starting in high school when he took his prom date, and future wife,
in his �(TM)69 Chevelle.
In addition to his parents, Sam will be sadly missed by his loving wife,
Michelle Page Sayre, with whom he would have celebrated 20 years of
marriage on December 16, 2009; children, Dylan and Samantha Sayre of the
home; sister, Elisabeth (husband, Kasey) Kuhlman of Cincinnati; father and
mother in law, Donald and Millie Page of New Philadelphia; six nieces and
nephews, and his beloved cat, Oreo.
A celebration of Sam�(TM)s life will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at
11:00 am in the St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ at Dover with Rev.
Michael Lowry and Rev. Edwin Shriver officiating. Interment will be at
the Dover Burial Park.
Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover
on Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-8 pm. Those wishing to express their fondest
