Sandra F. Lindsay

Sandra F. Lindsay, 74, of Dover passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Union Hospital in Dover.

Born on January 30, 1940 in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Clinton D. and Evelyn Swartz Maurer. She graduated from Tusky Valley High School in 1957. On September 21, 1957, she married Robert L. Lindsay, who preceded her in death on October 13, 1975. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, James Robert Lindsay and her sister in-law, Rita Maurer.

For many years, she was the grill cook at Dover Station Restaurant. Sandra enjoyed watching all sports, and was an avid Dover Tornado fan.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter; Coleen (Dan) Steinebrey of Dover; son, Robert (Sherie) Lindsay of Dover; three grandchildren, Bradley (Katy) Steinebrey of New Philadelphia, Brennan and Chloe Lindsay of Dover; two brothers, Ronald (Sherry) Maurer formerly of Zoar, Glenn Maurer of Carrolton; along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Sandra's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 2 pm with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Interment will take place at East Sparta Cemetery. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, 1 - 2 pm.
