Sandra K. "Sandy" Whitten

Sandra K. “Sandy” Whitten, 77, of Bolivar, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Hennis Care Center of Dover.

Born in Caldwell, Ohio, Sandra was the daughter of Lee Mitchell and Verna Mae (Clark) Kautz. She married Phillip H. Whitten on May 14, 1993. She retired in 2000 from Central State Can Company in Massillon where she worked for 28 years.

Sandy was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple. She was also a member of the Navarre VFW #5047, where she marched with the color guard.

In addition to her husband, Phillip, she leaves behind her children; Thomas (Cheryl) Wallace of Bolivar, Tyrone (Mary Kay) Wallace of Strasburg, Neva Wallace of New Philadelphia; her sister, Linda Westlake of Canton; along with seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Georgeanne and Sharon; along with many nieces and nephews.

Sandy was preceded in death by her three brothers; Hughie Mitchell, Detmer Mitchell, and David Mitchell.

Cremation has been entrusted with the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes & Crematory in Dover. A graveside service for her family will take place at Dover Burial Park. The arrangements are pending. To sign an online guestbook for Sandy, visit the obituary link on the funeral home’s website.
