Sandra Kay Scherer

Sandra Kay Scherer, 58, of Bolivar, Ohio died Monday, August 6, 2007 in Aultman Hospital following a three week battle with colon and liver cancer.

Sandy was employed by Dr. James P. Gesiotto of Strasburg as a lab technician and dental assistant. Her career spanned over 39 years in the same office where she worked for Dr. Fisher and Dr. Smith. She truly cared for the patients and a found a sense of humor in everything.

On March 2, 1974, Sandy married the love of her life, Frederick Dean Scherer whom she celebrated thirty three years of marriage.

Born September 14, 1948 in Dover, she was the daughter of Rosalie Croughs Frey of Dover and the late Russell Frey. Sandy was a devoted daughter for the well being of her mother.

Sandy was a 1966 graduate of Tusky Valley High School. She had previously worked for Nickle�(TM)s Bakery and the Bobbie Brooks Company. She was a member of the Timken Ski Club and the Stark County Bicycle Club. She lover of life and the outdoors and especially hiking, biking, skiing, camping, country dancing, motorcycling, gardening, cooking and enjoyed traveling. She normally would be successful at anything she would attempt.

In addition to her husband and mother, Sandy is survived by two brothers; Jerry Frey of Mineral City and Larry (Debbie) Frey of Atwood Lake; two sisters, Mary Miller of New Philadelphia and Cindy (Chuck) Frey-Roby of Bolivar and a brother in law Steve (Debbie) Scherer of Cincinnati along with five nieces and three nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her feline companions, Oscar and Tiffy.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father in law and mother in law, Donald and Erma Scherer and by a nephew along with her five cats, Daggit, Scooter, Misty, Tom, and Cocoa.

A celebration of Sandy�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. At Sandy�(TM)s request, she will be cremated following the service. A reception will follow at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8pm and Saturday from 10-11am at the funeral home.
