Sarah E. “Sallie” Favri Miller, 92, of Dover, died peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2003 in the Park Village Health Care Center.
Born May 31, 1910 at Carrollton, she was daughter of the late Ernest and Leila McLaughlin Favri.
Sallie was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg. She had been active as a member of the Women�(TM)s Auxiliary at Union Hospital and also enjoyed her time spent as part of the Women�(TM)s Golf Association at Union Country Club. Sallie was a talented artist and over the years loved to paint in her spare time.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. “Dutch” Miller, who died April 15, 1977.
Survivors include: a stepson; Tom (Shirley) Miller of New Philadelphia, three grandchildren; Brad (Katie) Miller of Cincinnati, Kris (Del) Shepherd of Dublin and Kyle (Kim) Miller of Dover, five grandchildren, a brother; Herman Favri of Carrollton, sister-in-law; Janet Favri of Medina, one niece and two nephews and her special friend and caregiver Patty Ferguson of Dover.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sallie was preceded in death by two brothers; Harry and Robert Favri, and a sister; Helen Favri.
A public graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 14, at 11:00 a.m. in the Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg with Pastor Dwight Mason officiating. There are no public calling hours.
