Sarah J. Jasper, known to friends and relatives as Sally, succumbed to a stroke at Aultman Hospital, Canton on Tuesday, June 29, 2004.
Sally was born August 2, 1932 in Sharon Valley to John and Florence Morton Roth.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Gene of New Philadelphia, sons, Thomas, wife Vicki Jasper of Gahanna, OH, Brian, wife Robynn Jasper of Marysville, OH, Ronald, wife Virginia Jasper of Walton Hills, OH �" Steven of Evansville, IN- Gerald (Gerry) of New Philadelphia, her daughter, Vicki, husband Jeff Rankin of Milford, OH and daughter in law Vickie Jasper of Mt. Vernon, IN.
Sally also has 11 grandchildren, including granddaughters Dawn, husband Scott Warmbier of Reynoldsville, OH, Stacey Jasper of Columbus, OH, Heather Jasper of Columbus, OH, Erin Rankin of Milford, OH, Grandsons, Brian, wife Bethany Jasper, Gahanna, OH- Christopher, wife Vanessa Jasper of Coarsegold, CA, - Matthew Jasper of San Diego, CA-Aaron Jasper of Evansville, IN- Andrew Jasper of Mt. Vernon, IN- Timothy Jasper of Marysville, OH and Justin Rankin of Fairborn, OH, along with two great grandchildren, Amelia Warmbier of Reynoldsburg, OH and Gavin Jasper of Coarsegold, Ca. Sally is also survived by her brothers, Jerry Roth and wife, Beverly of Sharon Valley, Richard, and wife Rachel of Pueblo, CO and sister, Marjorie West of Sharon Valley and a sister in law, Louise Roth. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Sally graduated in 1950 from Tuscarawas Warwick High School and was a faithful member of Fry�(TM)s Valley Moravian Church. Sally retired after operating a school bus for Starlight and Indian Valley Schools for 25 years. She was a magnet who drew friends, relatives, children, and all who knew her to her side. Sally loved to travel, cook, sew, knit, and crochet and repeatedly gave away most of her creations.
A celebration of Sally�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, July 3, 2004 at 10:30 am in the church where Sally was raised, the St. James Lutheran Church in Tuscarawas with Revs. Harry Milligan and Marie Couts officiating. Inurnment will be in the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 246 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia.
