Sarah M. Connor, 89, of Park Village and formerly of Bell Ave., Dover died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at Park Village following a brief illness.
Sarah was a retired employee of the Tuscarawas County Health Department where she previously managed the WIC program and also formerly worked for the Tuberculosis Association.
Born Nov. 23, 1923 in Caldwell, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Herman and Anna Regina (Arnold) Cooley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Amos and her second husband, Tom Connor along with a sister, Betty Goodrich and two brothers, Tom and John Cooley.
Sarah was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover. She was a graduate of Springfield High School. She enjoyed refinishing furniture and working crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Brenda Battad of Ashburn, Virginia and her grandson, Charles "Chaz" Battad, a student at George Mason University and of Ashburn along with her sister, Pat Powers of Linesville, Pennsylvania.
Pastor Dotty Hartzell of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover will officiate funeral services celebrating Sarah's life on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 beginning at 1:30pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover. Cremation will follow the services and she will be laid to rest in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30-1:30pm.
