Seth Jo Rummes, age 26, of Dover, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, in his home at Dover. Seth had battled kidney disease most of his life in addition to a brain injury that was the result of a bicycle accident at the age of 18.
Born August 13, 1987, at Dover, he was the son of Daniel (Regina) Rummes of Somerdale and Susan Luthy (companion, Todd Rini) Rummes of New Philadelphia. Seth attended Dover and Tuscarawas Valley High Schools, as well as Buckeye Career Center, ultimately earning his high school equivalency credential. He was employed by Kraus Pizza in Strasburg and Starlight Enterprises.
Seth confronted his serious medical issues with great strength, and did not let them hold him back. He maintained an excellent attitude, was a people person and enjoyed life. He was a fan of Dover and Tusky Valley football, rarely missing a Dover game. He even became a somewhat of a New Phila. fan due to his brothers participation there. Seth enjoyed NASCAR he met Rusty Wallace, going to the Midvale races and Dodge automobiles. From a young age, Seth was mechanically-inclined and could fix nearly anything even if it did not need fixing.
Some other favorite things and interests of Seth's that deserve mention (in no particular order) were painting, slot cars, Mountain Dew, campfires of which he was always the coordinator, the Miami Dolphins and dogs.
Seth also spoke at community events in regard to his bicycle accident and the importance of wearing a helmet and dealing with what one is given in life. He touched many lives during his brief time among us, and will be sadly missed.
In addition to his parents Seth is survived by his half-brothers, Taylor and Mitchell Rummes; his half-sister, Sylvia Rini; his step-sister, Brandie (Rick) Barkheimer; his step-brothers, Miles Littleton and Kyle (wife, Ashley) Littleton; his grandparents, Robert and Judy Luthy and Majel Rummes; his aunts and uncles, Victoria and Doug Tom, Jane and Bruce Clay, Teresa (companion, David Foley) Carter, Jeff and Kristen Smitley, Jim, JoAnn, Rich and Teresa, Donna Jean, John, Sandy and Vaughn, Dave and Sherri; many cousins, nieces and nephews on both sides; and special friend, Laura Nepsa.
