Shannon R. Platz

Shannon R. Platz, 29, of Dover, Ohio died Sunday, April 11, 2004 in Aultman Hospital at Canton as the result of injuries received in an accident.

Shannon formerly worked at Naples City Park in Naples, Florida and organized nature programs for young children.

Born October 6, 1974 in Dover, she was the daughter of Brenda Platz of Dover and her fiancé Doug Porter of New Philadelphia and Donald “Chip” Platz of Florida.

Shannon graduated from Dover High School in 1993 and attended Ohio State University. She enjoyed nature and loved the earth and hoped it would be restored to Paradise. She also was a caregiver and was passionate about helping people. She was involved in a local weekly Bible Study Club.

In addition to her parents, Shannon is survived by her sister and brother in law Brigitte and Thad Rosenberry of New Philadelphia and was adored by her niece and nephew, Alex and Ava. She will also be sadly missed by her loving grandparents Buster and Lee Medford of Dover. She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Jacqueline Platz of Florida, maternal grandfather, Stanley Price of Illinois; several aunts, uncles and cousins including Rob and Jarrod Price and her special feline companions, Maggie and Dexter.

Shannon was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Donald G. Platz.

A celebration of Shannon�(TM)s life will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 6 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Darryl Swier officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-6 pm.
