Sharon A. Haynes, 55, of Dover, died October 1, 2009 at Union Hospital in Dover, following a long illness.
Born in Canton, Ohio on December 16, 1953, she was the daughter of Earl and Dottie Swanson-Haynes. Her father preceded her in death along with her brother-in law; Terry Barkheimer.
Sharon graduated from Dover High School in 1971. She continued her education at Kent State Tuscarawas, where she received an associate degree in accounting. She loved learning and often said, "Knowledge is Power." When she spoke, people listened.
She worked as a bookkeeper at Maren Corporation in New Philadelphia, and for many years, she sold Avon.
When she was younger, she sang and enjoyed being a thespian at Little Theatre. She loved gardening, spending time with her dog, and making gifts for her family.
In addition to her mother, Dottie, she is survived by, three brothers; William (Debbie) Haynes of New Philadelphia, Michael Haynes of Orlando, Florida, and Timothy Haynes of Sherrodsville; four sisters, Brenda Corn of Dover, Karla Barkheimer of New Philadelphia, and Marie Haynes (Steve Sickels) of New Philadelphia, Kristine (Joel) Conkey of Wadsworth. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews, who loved her very much.
In honoring Sharon's wishes cremation will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. To sign an online register book for Sharon, click on the "obituary" link on the funeral homes website.
