Sharon Lou Lawson, 60, of Dundee, died Thursday, April 28, 2011 in Aultman Hospital after a courageous battle with illness.
She was born October 1, 1950 in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Russell and Mary Lucille Morgan Bonner.
Sharon had been an employee of Nickles Bakery, having worked in the Thrift store.
Sharon was one of the most caring people you would ever meet. She had a gentle way about her and always put the needs of others in front of her own. She had many talents, but her children most fondly remember her talent as a seamstress, commenting that she had made nearly all of their clothing as they were growing up. Additionally, Sharon was a doting grandmother who loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Her husband, Ronald C. Lawson, died January 20, 2007. Over the years, the two of them enjoyed doing many things together, including in the later years, taking an interest in coin collecting and becoming members of the Tuscarawas County Coin Club.
Surviving family members include: two daughters, Morgan Lawson and her companion Tim Vaughan of Dundee, and MacKinzye Lawson of Dundee; two grandchildren, Lizabeth Renee and Ryan Reed Thompson; three brothers, Bob (Mae) Bonner, Stephen (Marlene) Bonner, and David (Florence) Bonner; and a sister, Mary (Kenneth) Drain.
Along with her parents and husband, a sister, Barbara Riggs and a brother, Donald Bonner, preceded Sharon in death.
David Carrick of First Christian Church, New Philadelphia will lead a service that celebrates Sharon's life on Monday, May 2, at 2:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Strasburg. Interment will follow in Dundee Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
