Shelley K. (Littlefield) Craine, 49, of Ravenna, Ohio and a former Dover resident died Sunday, December 13, 2009 following injuries received in an auto accident.
Shelley was an employee of Akron Legal Services. She was previously a bookkeeper for her father at Dover-Phila Electric and a former employee of Pin Quest in Streetsboro. She also served as a pianist at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mantua.
Born March 27, 1960 in Akron, she was the daughter of Earl and Betty (Long) Littlefield of New Philadelphia.
Shelley was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene University where she received degrees in both Psychology and Social Studies. She was a gifted musician both as a vocalist and pianist and often served as an accompanist for recitals for college students in the music department and also sang in the college choir. She was a 1978 graduate of Dover High School. She was a member of the Ravenna Church of the Nazarene. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife and daughter. Her friends always appreciated her "listening ear" as they would often confide in her. Following college, she taught at Christian schools in Mobile, Alabama and Toledo, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, Shelley is survived by her husband, Clifford L. Craine with whom she celebrated eight years of marriage on September 1; a brother, Scott (wife, Joan) Littlefield of Souderton, Pa. and their children, Brooke and Brandon; her father in law and mother in law, Clifford and Joanne Craine of Bedford, Ohio and her brother in law, Kenneth Craine and children, Sarah, Kyle, Katie along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her sister in law, Maria Craine.
A celebration of Shelley's life will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Dr. Vernon Morse and Dr. William Haggis officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will follow at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-9pm and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
