Shirley A. Ritenour

Shirley Ann Ritenour, 76, of New Philadelphia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2015 in the Community Hospice House.

Born July 9, 1938 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Anna Miller Ritenour. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Marie Butts; aunts, Isabelle Shuman, Beatrice Mercer; uncle, George Miller and one great nephew.

Shirley was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Philadelphia, attended Starlight Enterprises and Dayhab where she met many of her friends. She enjoyed being with family, watching TV and playing cards.

Her legacy of love and caring will live on in the nieces and nephews who survive, Diane (Marty) Price, Teresa Zimmerman and her fianc, Abe Schlabach of New Philadelphia, Darryl (Kim) Franklin, Rhonda (Titus) Schlabach, James (Sally) Franklin of Dover, Sandy (Clarence) Ferguson of Massillon, Chris (Keith) Baker of Tennessee; brother in law, Roger (Wanda) Butts; 21 great nieces and nephews and 20 great-great nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A service celebrating Shirley's life will be held on Tuesday, February 3 at 4:00 pm at the Dover funeral home with Minister Dan Price officiating. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
