Stanley "Chris" Winkler, 44, of Beach City and formerly of Strasburg died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in the Cleveland Clinic following an extended illness.
He was an employee of the Circle K Stores in both Canton and Louisville until his illness forced his retirement.
Born Feb. 8, 1969 in Dover, he was the son of Stan and Sandra (Snyder) Winkler of Beach City.
Chris was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church at Strasburg. He was a graduate of Strasburg Franklin High School and the Buckeye Career Center in 1987. He had many interests including reading and computers and enjoyed communicating with people all over the world.
In addition to his parents, he will be sadly missed by his sister, Libby Winkler (Robert Prah) of Cleveland and his three nephews, Ian David Prah, Zachary Martin Prah and Jacob Christopher Prah along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl "Popeye" and Vivian Snyder and paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Katherine Winkler.
A celebration of Chris' life will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 beginning at 5pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Karen Biggerstaff officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-5pm.
