Stanley E. Tate, Sr.

Stanley E. Tate, Sr., age 61 of Dover, Oh. passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007.

Born on April 20, 1946 in Dover, Oh., Stanley was the son of Evangeline Pryor of New Philadelphia, Oh. and the late Clarence Edward Tate.

Stanley graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1964, where he was a member of several athletic squads, including the football team. He went on to work with General Electric and Union Camp Chemical Corp. during his professional career.

A lifelong resident of the Dover-New Philadelphia area, Stanley was an avid and amazing barbecue enthusiast who enjoyed grilling and sharing his
famous spare ribs with friends and family. Additionally, Stanley was a passionate fan of all Cleveland sports teams as well as The Ohio State
Buckeyes.

Stanley is survived by his mother Evangeline Pryor, step-father, James Pryor of New Philadelphia, Oh., his brother Larry Tate of New Philadelphia, Oh., his former wife Gloria Tate of Houston, Tx., his two
children Toi Williams of Houston, Tx., Stanley Edward Tate, Jr. of Kansas City, Mo. and grandchildren Derek Williams, Austin Williams, Destiny
Williams, Kanon Tate and Baron Tate. He will be dearly missed by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, neices, nephews and friends who always knew him as
a very kind and giving man.

A visitation at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory , Dover, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22 at First Baptist Church, Dover at 1 p.m. with Reverend Robert Sherrell officiating the service.
