Steven R. Meese, 49, of Dover, Ohio died Thursday, January 12, 2006 in Union Hospital following a sudden illness.
Steve was a Field Service Mechanic for Reco Equipment in Morristown, Ohio where he worked for over 30 years.
Born November 3, 1956 in Dover, Ohio, he was the son of Patricia and Bob Williams of Dover and Robert and Brenna Meese Jr. of Colorado.
Steve attended the Sugarcreek Free Methodist Church. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #18. He was a 1975 graduate of Dover High School and enjoyed riding motorcycles and hobby farming. He loved to watch his daughters play basketball on the Strasburg Lady Tigers basketball team.
In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by three children; Zachary of Dover and twin daughters, Erin and Emily of Strasburg; his fiancé, Ellen Pretorius and her son, John; a brother, Jim (Betsy) Meese of Hancock, Michigan and a sister, Barb (Drew) Yosick of New Philadelphia; his grandmother, Dorothy Meese of Dover; aunt and uncle, Janie and Bob Klopfer of Dover; nieces and nephews, Elliott and Anna Meese and Alex, Nick, and Tony Yosick. He is also survived by a great aunt, Mildred Detre of Dover.
Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, Winfred and Helen Weinsz and Robert Meese Sr., uncle James Weinsz, and a great aunt, Virginia Walker.
A memorial service celebrating Steve�(TM)s life will be held Monday evening at 7pm in the Sugarcreek Free Methodist Church with Pastor Dwight Mason officiating. Friends can pay their respects to Steve on Monday from 6-7pm and the family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church foyer. Private graveside services will be held Tuesday in the Dover Burial Park.
