Steven Ray Swihart

Steven Ray Swihart, 61, of Dover passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021.

Born on December 2, 1959, in Dover, he was the son of William D. Swihart of Dover and Nancy (Bahler) Rufener of Uhrichsville.

Steven attended Buckeye Career Center and graduated from Dover High School with the class of 1979. He enjoyed operating heavy equipment and retired from the Local 18 Union Operators. He worked for many years for BHI.

Steven was an avid NASCAR fan. He loved all sports but especially loved the Cleveland Browns.

In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his two sons; Justin Swihart (Cassie) of New Philadelphia, Jory (Emily) Swihart of Dover; his grandsons, Brodie, Kellen, and Jack; four brothers, Douglas (Lori) Swihart of Dover, Matthew (Jen) Swihart of Medina, Edward Swihart of Dover, Bradley (Coreena) Rufener of Sugarcreek; his former wife, Holly Swihart; former life partner, Ruth-Ann (Gebelin) Glasgow and her daughter, Erica Rozek; along with Erica's children, Noah and Rylee; and many close friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Swihart.
