Susan Elizabeth France, 91, a longtime New Philadelphia resident, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 in the St. Joseph Care Center at Louisville where she had resided for the last 4-½ years.
Born October 8, 1914 in Midvale, she was the daughter of the late Steve & Barbara Molnar Yuhos.
Susan was a proud homemaker whose home was always immaculate. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her delicious pies, potato and macaroni salads, but perhaps even more for her personal touch. She regularly welcomed guests into the family home and treated them with their favorite meals, which she had committed to memory.
Exercise was important to Susan as well. Often she would walk as many as six miles a day around town, enjoying the sights and occasionally stopping by the former Aberth(TM)s Bakery downtown for a fresh loaf of bread to accent one of her home cooked meals.
Susan had been a member of the First Church of the Brethren in New Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Steele France, who died December 13, 1990.
Surviving family members include: a son, Charles (Joye) France of Canal Fulton; three daughters, Nancy (David) Lippy of Columbus, Barbara (Jack) Vincent of Louisville, and Eileen (Robert) Waldick of Keller, TX; a brother, Steve (Helen) Uhose of Canton; two sisters, Mary DeMattio of Dover and Cathryn Gribble of New Philadelphia; 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
