Susie M. Heck

Susie M. Heck, 73, of 220 E. 8th St., Dover, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, in Aultman Hospital at Canton.
She had worked as an employee of the first Surety Savings Bank and had also been employed by the former Daily Reporter newspaper.

She was born May 13, 1927, at Dover, the daughter of the late George and Bessie Compher Stahlecker.

Susie was an active member of the First United Methodist Church at Dover. She was past vice president and former officer of United Methodist Women, involved with Share-A-Christmas and Dress-A-Child, and was a former officer of the Salvation Army Auxiliary. She had served the Church Women United as past officer and member, and for many years had worked with the Tuscarawas County Elections Board and had been a presiding precinct judge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene D. Heck, who passed away Jan. 16, 1993.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Fisher of Dover; a sister-in-law, Betty Stahlecker of Dover; a granddaughter, Leslie Fisher of Dover; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Susie was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 23, at 10:30 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church at Dover with Rev. James Scott officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover on Monday from 5 to 8.
