Suzanne A. Ley, 88, a lifelong resident of Dover, Ohio died Monday, January 15, 2007 in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.
Born July 6, 1918 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Robert O. and Beatrice Morgan Weible.
She was a former clerical employee for the State of Ohio.
Sue was a member of the First Moravian Church in Dover. She was also a longtime volunteer of Mobile Meals and was a charter member of the Doer Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary. She was a 1936 graduate of Dover High School and attended both Miami University and Kent State University. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert E. Ley Jr. with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage on October 16, 2006; one son, Dr. Robert E. (Christel) Ley III of Dover; six daughters, Sally (Jeff) Pacheco of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jeanne (Roy) Leatherbury of Centerville, Ohio Betsy (John) Berenzweig of Oxford, Ohio, Janet (Fred) Foutz of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Mary Lynn “Pinny” (Doug) Bolden of Hamilton, Ohio and Heather Ley of Massillon; fourteen grandchildren, Doreen Ley, Andrea (Steve) Penepacker, Elizabeth Ley, Sarah Pacheco, David (Noel) Leatherbury, Rob Leatherbury, Nicole (Josh) Cerra, Jennifer Leatherbury, John Berenzweig, Jay Berenzweig, Colt (Katie) Foutz, Dan Foutz, Jake Foutz, and Sam Foutz; four great grandchildren, Lauren Penepacker, Colin Leatherbury, Jonah Foutz, and Brady Foutz; two sisters in law, Ann Weible of Dover and Marge Weible of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Sue was preceded in death by two brothers, William “Bill” Weible and Robert C. Weible.
Funeral services celebrating Sue�(TM)s life will be held Friday, January 19, 2007 at 11am in the First Moravian Church at Dover with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Thursday from 6-9pm.
