Suzette Irene (Walker) Woods

Suzette Irene (Walker) Woods, born on December 19, 1944 in Uhrichsville, Ohio.  The third child to the late Robert and Areatha Walker, peacefully passed away on Tuesday morning, April 30, 2024.  Suzette’s journey was marked by resilience, love, and unwavering strength.  Suzette was preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert Macon Woods.

Left to Cherish precious memories are her four children, Valerie Woods, Dale (Diane) Woods, Sonya (Kerry) Townsend, Calvin Woods (CJ), and daughter in law, Ellisa Woods; her twenty one grandchildren and thirty eight great grandchildren who she was affectionately known as Grand’Mere.  She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Diane Sumpter, Rosemary Brown, Honorary sister, Flora Jean Houston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

After a fulfilling career at the Timken Company, spanning three decades, Suzette retired to travel and enjoy family and friends.  Throughout her life, Suzette was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her.   She faced life’s challenges with grace and determination, always putting her family first.  Suzette’s love knew no bounds, and her legacy of compassion will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover.  A service celebrating Suzette’s life will be held on Saturday, May 11^th at 12:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Pastor Rasheed As-Samad officiating.  The family will be greeting friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.  Following the service, a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center at 831 Boulevard, Dover.
