Tanner Folks, age 24, of Dover, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023.
Born March 28, 1999, in Dover, Tanner was the son of Laurie Flanagan and the late Daniel Folks. He loved his dad very much and was his caregiver; Tanner was crushed following his dad’s death this past June.
Tanner attended Dover City Schools where he played rugby. Also, in his youth, he participated in tae kwon do and enjoyed cycling. Tanner was a proud member of Roofers Local 88, Canton, and was employed by Cardinal Roofing, Akron. He also worked for Foreign Hills Auto Sales, New Philadelphia. Tanner made many friends throughout his short life.
In addition to his mother, Laurie, Tanner will be dearly missed by his sister, Victoria Flanagan; his grandparents, Vickie and Steve Whyde and Connie and Robert Flanagan; his great-grandfather, Ronald Gene Whyde; his nephew, Cooper Gump; his aunts, Rebecca (Zack Stoneking) Whyde and Stephanie Hanner; his cousins, Isaac Menapace and Hannah Stoneking.
Cremation is in the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. There will be a memorial gathering, with food, at Ricardo's Party Center, 115 Front St. S.W., New Philadelphia, on Wednesday, January 10, 5 - 7 p.m.
