Tanya L. Raynow, 66, of Dover passed away peacefully at her home following an extended illness.
Born December 21, 1956 in Compton, California, Tanya was a daughter of the late Chester and Geraldine Smolly Buchholz. She worked in the Dietary Department at the Hennis Care Centre in Dover for many years. Tanya also worked at several different restaurants in the area, most recently, Dee’s Restaurant in Dover. She was a volunteer at the Greater Dover-New Philadelphia Food Pantry and was instrumental in starting the soup kitchen in New Philadelphia. Her love of cooking was shown towards others as she enjoyed bringing dinners to local shut-ins and the homeless population. In addition to cooking, Tanya also loved making crafts, and was a member of the Broadway Global Methodist Church at New Philadelphia.
Tanya is survived by her children, Amanda Giumenti of New Philadelphia, Allie (Nick) Jones of Bolivar, Eric Raynow (companion, Kim Baldwin) of Dover; sister, Tammie Buchholz of California; grandchildren, Cruz, Kade, Addison and Gage.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A service celebrating Tanya’s life will be held on Thursday, August 3rd starting at 10:30 am with Pastor Harley Wheeler officiating. The family will be greeting friends on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
