Thelma Fern Blackstone

Thelma Fern Blackstone, 84, formerly of Tremont St., Dover, died Tuesday, October 31, 2000 in Littleton, Colorado.

She retired in 1977 as a nurse's aide at Massillon City Hospital.

Born January 17, 1916 in Guernsey County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Andrew & Bertha Lura Finley Vessels.

Thelma was a member of the East Union Presbyterian Church in Guernsey County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel ''Clyde'' Blackstone, who died March 28, 1993.

Survivors include: a son, Jack L. Blackstone of Littleton, Colorado, a daughter, Sandra Jolene Blackstone of New Philadelphia, 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, Thelma was preceded in death by a brother.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 4, at 2pm in the East Union Presbyterian Church at Cambridge with Pastor Ron Fleming officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Cemetery. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover on Saturday from 9-11am.
