Theodore A. Krantz, 84, of Strasburg died Friday, August 24, 2007 at his home following a sudden illness.
Born August 11, 1923 in Strasburg he was a son of the late Thomas and Zerelda Noftsinger Krantz. Theodore was also preceded in death by his wife Ella Krantz who died on July 6, 1999; step son, Darrell Tilton; brother, Lewis Krantz and his sister, Ardyze Malcuit.
He retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad.
Theodore was a member of the former St. Aloysius Catholic Church at Strasburg, Strasburg American Legion and the New Philadelphia VFW. He loved farming and was known for breeding Goodman Fox Hounds. He also enjoyed watching the wildlife around his farm and was always helping others. Theodore was also an Army veteran of WW II.
He is survived by his sister, Vivian Rittmaier of Beach City; six nephews, William, Mark and Brad Malcuit, Rick, Roderick and Rondal Rittmaier; many great nieces and nephews and his long time friend, Robert Liggett.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Strasburg with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the St. Peter Church Cemetery in Lawrence Township. Following the burial a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
