Theodore Speyer

Theodore "Ted" Speyer, 88, of Dover died at his home on Friday May 16, 2008.

He had retired in 1988 from the City of Beacon, New York as a Water Plant Operator.

Born February 4, 1920 in Astoria, New York he was a son of the late Arthur Sr. and Adelphia Bauer Speyer. His wife, Ruth Ann Speyer who died on January 7, 2004, granddaughter, Carrie Neustifter; brother, Arthur Speyer Jr. and an infant sister also preceded Ted in death.

Ted was a member of the Church of Christ in Dover where he served as a Deacon and he was also a Navy veteran of WW II.

He is survived by a son, John (Daryl) Speyer of Dover; daughter, Susan (Tim) Neustifter of Colorado; four grandchildren, Kirsten Carithers, Bethany Sanders, Brent and Jeremy Neustifter and a great granddaughter, Aria Sanders.

Cremation has taken place through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Church of Christ at Dover with Randy Chapman officiating. Interment of the ashes will be at the Dover Burial Park.
