Theresa Pauline Doriche, age 90 of Dover, passed away, following a brief illness, on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 12, 1925 in Wampum, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Antoinette (Campanelli) Iannelli. She moved with her family at a young age to Dover where she graduated from Dover High School and lived the remainder of her life. Theresa loved her community and was proud to be a resident of Dover.
Theresa also took great pride in working very hard throughout her life. As a child, she helped make cement blocks for the family business and sold newspapers. As a teen, she worked for the Goshen Dairy. As an adult, Theresa worked at the Sad Iron Co., the A & P, and Marlowe's, all in Dover. For many years Theresa worked for Miracle Adhesives in New Philadelphia where she had many close friends. In her 70's, Theresa worked for the Endres Floral Co. in New Philadelphia and the hatchery in Strasburg.
In addition her employment, Theresa was driven to keep a neat and tidy home and a well-manicured yard. She loved caring for her cats, Kitty and Callie, and was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church in Dover. Her love for and faith in God was unbreakable, no matter the circumstance.
Theresa's primary focus was loving and caring for her family. She was a loving, devoted mother, mother-in-law, Mee-Maw to her granddaughter, honorary grandma to many, aunt, neighbor, and friend. Theresa will be so very missed by her family and so many others.
Theresa persevered through pain near the end of her life. She and her family found some comfort in her motto that "nothing in this world is forever."
Theresa leaves behind her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bill Altier of Dover; her granddaughter and the apple of her eye, Billie-Jo Altier of Columbus; her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; her very special niece Florence Ball; her dear neighbor, Becky Davis; and her many friends.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her sisters, Jenny and Alice DiGiralamo, Olga Oddi and Mary Forsythe; her brothers, Carmen and Agostino Iannelli; her former husband and lifelong friend, Earl "Lefty" Doriche; her sister-in-law, Sue Doriche; her nephews, Joe Oddi, Bud Ball and Bill English; her great-nephews, Dan English and Dave Ball; her great-niece, Gina Harper; her former mother-in-law and father-in-law, Teresa and Peter Doriche; and her former brother-in-law, Dom Doriche.
