Thomas L. "Pipe" Stoneman

Thomas L. "Pipe" Stoneman, age 82, a life-long resident of New Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016, in Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar following a brief illness.

Born August 9, 1933, he was a son of the late Fred and Marie Duerr Stoneman. He attended Dover High School and was employed by the U.S. Ceramic Tile Company at East Sparta for fifty years. Additionally, Pipe was a farmer, raising beef cattle; hard work was his hobby.

He attended Lake Drive Fellowship at New Cumberland; was a member of the Tusky Valley Ruritan Club; Tuscarawas Valley Farm Bureau; Tuscarawas Valley Pioneer Power Association; volunteered at the Monday lunches at the Warren Township Community Center; and served on the board of directors of the Ceramic Federal Credit Union.

Pipe is survived by his wife, Beverly Henson Stoneman, whom he married on June 24, 1958; his daughter, Kim (Bob) King of Minerva; his son, Perry (Dot) Stoneman of New Cumberland; his grandchildren, Brian (Amanda) Stoneman, Tyler (fiancee, Sally Randall) Stoneman, and Jessica (Dalton) Echols; his great-grandchildren, Katrina, Danielle and Rachel; his sister, Lee Ellen Heath of Midvale; and his many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Pipe was preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille Mitchell, Betty Robinson, Jean Yackey, Jane Holcomb, Suanne Borter and Maxine Hershberger.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 21, at 1:30 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Rev. Larry G. Stitt officiating. Burial will follow in New Cumberland Cemetery.
