Thurman S. Groff, 82, of Dover, died Friday, September 2, 2005 in Union Hospital.
He was a hard-working man who for nearly 40 years was a fixture at the Stone Creek brick plant.
Born July 27, 1923 at Dover, he was the son of the late Joseph & Clara Kohler Groff.
Thurman was a member of Dover�(TM)s Grace Lutheran Church. He was a big sports fan who closely followed the Dover Tornadoes. He also enjoyed watching sports on television including the Cleveland Indians and professional wrestling.
Surviving are: six nieces and nephews, Barbara Jones of Strasburg, Kathie (Dwight) Justice of Dover, Thomas (Deb) Jones of Mansfield, Brad Jones of Dover, Linda (Marion) Keim of Beach City, Carol (James) Infield of Orrville; and 11 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Thurman was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jones.
A ceremony that celebrates Thurman�(TM)s life will be held Monday, September 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover with Rev. Lee Eilert officiating. Private interment will be held Tuesday in Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home on Monday, one hour prior to services.
