Timothy A. Duncan

Timothy A. Duncan, 57, of New Philadelphia died suddenly Thursday, July 16, 2009 in Uhrichsville.

Born on March 11, 1952 in Dover, he was the son of William R. and Anna Berndt Duncan.

Timothy played football for Indian Valley North and graduated in 1970.

He was formerly an employee of the Operator�(TM)s Union, where he worked as a heavy machine operator. He also worked as a manager of the former Burger Chef in Dover.

Timothy was an animal lover, and will be missed by his cat of 13 years. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed trapping and golfing. He was an avid sports fan. He spent most of his time watching the Cleveland Indians and held season tickets for both the Massillon Tigers and Canton McKinley.

In addition to his parents, Timothy is survived by his brother; William E. (Harriett) Duncan of New Cumberland; four nieces, Nannette (Geof) Roden and Sarah Duncan, both of California, Michele Duncan of Florida, and Becky (Jeff) Sharp of New Philadelphia; his great niece and nephew Kelsey and Luke Sharp both of New Philadelphia as well as many aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his two infant sisters; Cynthia Rae Duncan and Mary Ann Duncan; maternal grandparents; Edward and Ruth Harper Berndt and paternal grandparents; Edward and Marie Fisher Duncan.


A celebration of Timothy�(TM)s life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Harry “Bud” Milligan officiating. Burial will follow at Dover Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a reception will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00-2:00.
