Timothy J. Welsh

Timothy J. Welsh, 66, of Strasburg, Ohio died suddenly Sunday, June 27, 2010 while doing what he enjoyed the most, fluffing hay on his John Deere tractor.

Tim retired in 1993, as a brakeman for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad at Brewster where he worked for thirty years. Tim was also a wellknown tree trimmer in the area. There wasn't a tree too big for Tim to handle.

Born August 19, 1943 in Dover, he was the son of the late Patrick J. Welsh and Jean Violet Sloan Welsh. He was also preceded by his sister, Penny Brown.

He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Zoar. He was a 1961 graduate of Dover High School. He loved spending time at the cabin he built and enjoyed making breakfast every Sunday morning for years for his friends and acquaintances. In addition to making hay, playing his guitar, solving all of life's problems with his friends every morning at El Ducko's, and caring for his many goats, Tim will be remembered as a friend to nearly every person he ever met.

Tim is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Hartline) Welsh with whom he celebrated 47 years of marriage April 27; three sons Dan (wife, Kathy) Welsh of Strasburg, Tim (wife, Tracy) Welsh of Clinton, Ohio and Kelly Welsh of Strasburg; three grandchildren, Luke, Ann, and John Welsh; and a brother, John (wife, Valda) Welsh of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 10am in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church near Zoar with Fr. Ed Keck officiating. Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Strasburg on Wednesday from 5-8pm.
