Timothy W. Thomas

Timothy "Tim" Thomas, 20, of Winamac Indiana, and formerly of New Philadelphia died Thursday, April 24, 2008 after a long battle with heart problems. Tim received his first heart transplant at the age of four and his second transplant at age 12. He had been in kidney failure for over a year. Tim knew the importance of organ donation and in turn became an organ donor to save other lives.

Born on September 15, 1987 in San Antonio Texas, he was the son of Bruce Thomas and Carol and Tracy Beal of Winamac, Indiana.

Tim attended East Elementary in New Philadelphia and graduated from Eastern Pulaski High School in Winamac, Indiana. He attended Collins College in Tempe, Arizona before attending ITT Techincal College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, wrestling, karate and had a true love for art.

In addition to his parents, other survivors include; a sister, Jennifer Beal of the home; two half sisters, Angela Gerthing, and Mikayla Thomas and a half brother, Hunter Thomas; his grandparents, Raymond and Shirley Beal of Canton, Clarence and Sheila Beamer of Uhrichsville, Bill and Linda Thomas, and his great grandmothers ; Hattie Mae Gray and Mary L. Beal.

Tim is preceded in death by his grandmother Doris Gray Beal.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Rev. R. Victor Gray officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home two hours before the service from 12:00 -2:00 pm. In honoring Tim's wishes, cremation will take place. A reception will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center following the funeral.
