Todd A. Stephens, age 53, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, October 9, 2014, following an apparent heart attack.
Born February 27, 1961, at Dover, he was a son of Robert and Sylvia (Hoopingarner) Stephens of New Philadelphia. Todd graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1980, and was employed by Meteor at Dover.
He was a quiet, private man who enjoyed reading, writing short stories, watching movies, going for walks and playing video games.
Additionally, Todd had made the decision, should something happen to him, to be a organ and tissue donor in order to help others, and his wishes were carried out.
Besides his parents, Todd is survived by his two sisters, Tracey (Larry) Michel of Navarre, and Tamara (Steve) Pongratz of Dennison; his brother, Terry Stephens of Arizona; his three nieces and three nephews; his seven great-nieces and seven great-nephews, including Bradley Michel, with whom he was especially close; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins of both the Blackwell and Stephens families.
Todd was cremated and a graveside service will be held Thursday, October 16, at 10 a.m., in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia; Pastor Richard G. Rose of the Dover Alliance Church will officiate. Following the committal, there will be a meal in the Dover Alliance Church. To sign an online guestbook and share a fond memory of Todd, please visit the Obituaries and Flowers link on the Toland-Herzig website.
