Trevor D. Martin

Trevor D. Martin, age 35, of Strasburg, died Saturday, October 5, 2013, from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.

Born January 18, 1978, at Dover, he was a son of Rick (Amanda) Martin of New Philadelphia and Pat (Frank) Stevens of Dundee. Trevor attended New Philadelphia High School and Buckeye Career Center, graduating from New Philadelphia in 1996. He was a supervisor with Wayne Dalton at Mount Hope, having been employed there since the age of nineteen.

Trevor loved his family, his fiance and soulmate, Ginger Hunt, and his dogs, Kimbo-Slyce and Cash. He enjoyed the outdoors, and cook-outs with family and friends were special times. Trevor and Ginger tackled many building projects at home, where they worked side-by-side, Trevor showing Ginger all of the how-to's. Always living life to the fullest, Trevor liked to go off-roading in his Jeep and Chevy truck, and he also managed to squeeze in a game of golf now and then. He will be sadly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

In addition to his parents, step-parents, Ginger and the dogs, he is survived by his sister, Tara (James) Meek of Sugarcreek; his brother, Nick Stevens of Dundee; his step-brother, Shane Harrop of New Philadelphia; his nephew, Jaden Meek; his grandparents, Chet (Mary) Schlegel of New Philadelphia, Ruby Stress of Dundee, and Pap-pap a.k.a. Teed Martin and his companion, Susie Hodge, of Bolivar; as well as his many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Trevor was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty Martin and Robert Stress; his Big Grandpa and Big Grandma Martin; his Grandma Gibby; and his aunt, Brenda Keffer.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Thursday, October 10, 5 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 11, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home with Pastor Erik Cremeans officiating. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard at Dover.
