Troy C. "T.J." Johnson

Troy C. “T.J.” Johnson, age 51, of Dover, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House, New Philadelphia. T.J. had battled cancer for over a year.

T.J. was Born September 16, 1973, in Dover, the son of the late Earl and Marsha (Fox) Johnson. He graduated from Dover High School in 1991. T.J. loved nearly all sports and was employed by Klar Sporting Goods and later Dumont Sporting Goods in Dover. After playing football and baseball in high school, he enjoyed playing softball in various adult leagues, and was a fan of the Dover Tornadoes, Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and Indians -- now Guardians.

T.J. was devoted to his family and will be dearly missed by his wife, Melissa (Morris) Johnson, whom he married on July 22, 2022; his daughter, Kayla Anderson; his step-children, Bryce, Brylee, Brailynn and Branson; his grandchildren, to whom he was known as “Papa Troy,” Riley, Sophia and Atlas; his brothers, Steve (Lezlie) and, T.J.'s twin, Tim (Kari) Johnson; his sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Randy) Troyer and Jodi (fiancé, Jared Haney) Morris; and his nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, T.J. was preceded in death by his fiancée, Amy Jo Limbacher, who tragically passed away from cancer in 2004 at the age of 30.

Honoring T.J.’s wishes, he will be cremated. Family and friends are invited to call, pay their respects and visit with the family on Friday, November 8, 4 - 6 p.m., at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, His cremated remains will be placed in the columbaria of Dover Burial Park Saturday November 9 at 1 p.m.
