Twyla J. Yackey

Twyla J. Yackey, 93, of Dover and Strasburg, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.

Born December 10, 1928 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Elnora Beitzel Maus. Twyla was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Yackey on November 1, 1975; and two brothers, Dale and Glenn Maus.

She retired from Union Hospital after 20 years of service, and was a member of the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg. Twyla enjoyed watching sports, especially following her son, and later, her grandchildren with all of their school activities. She loved playing cards, quilting and camping.

Twyla is survived by her son, Ed (Stephanie) Yackey of Strasburg; grandchildren, Carla (Paul) Schauer, Kyle (Mary) Yackey both of Cincinnati, Kendra Wolgamott of Strasburg; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Brynna, Aric Schauer; Carson, Kiera Yackey; Logan and Nora Wolgamott.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 16th starting at 1:30 pm in the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg with Rev. Jason Rissler officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. The family will be greeting friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Strasburg is handling arrangements.
