Ulrich ''Uli'' Hoffman

Ulrich R. “Uli” Hoffman, 64, of Strasburg, died Saturday, April 6, 2002 in his home.

He retired from the Timken Company of Canton where he had worked for 30 years as a machine operator.

Born November 5, 1937, at Essen �" Katernberg, West Germany, he was son of the late Julius and Johanna Hoffman.

Uli was a member of the New Apostolic Church at Strasburg and was active as a member of the choir.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating, water-skiing and ocean fishing. Uli was also a big sports fan who followed the Cleveland Indians, played racquetball, and loved watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events. He also enjoyed photography and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christel Hoffman, who died in 1983.

Surviving is his second wife, Betty Day Hoffman, whom he wed on January 18, 1992.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 9, at 7:00pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover. A private interment service will be held Wednesday in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday (tonight) from 6-9pm and 6-7pm on Tuesday.
