Vearl W. Specht

Vearl W. Specht, 87, of Stone Creek, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, in Union Hospital, Dover.

Born Jun. 28, 1919, in Dover, he was a son of the late William A. and Arba Kern Specht.. Vearl was a long-time dairy farmer, and also worked for the Goshen Dairy Co., New Philadelphia for twenty-five years before retiring. He was a hard-working, devoted family man.

Survivors include a daughter, Sally Jo Specht, of Stone Creek; three sons, Vearl Jr. (wife, Sharon) Specht and Timothy (wife, Cheryl) Specht, both of Newcomerstown, and Randy Specht of Stone Creek; five grandchildren, Jason, Brain and Kevin Specht, all of Newcomerstown, Sarah Wheeler of Marysville, and Danielle Wilson of Lexington, KY.

Vearl was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly forty-eight years, June R. Harding Specht, in 1992; and by a brother, Roy Edwin Specht.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m., in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg, with Pastors Johnnie Swann and Peter Matthewson officiating.
