Velma G. Kollar Hardwidge

Velma G. Kollar Hardwidge, 81, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, October 5, 2001 in her home.

She was a retired employee of the Alsco Company at Sugarcreek where she had worked for over 17 years.

Born August 6, 1919 at Fairfield Township, she was daughter of the late Albert & Anna Roberts Kollar.

Velma was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Hardwidge, whom she wed on January 12, 1941.

Other survivors include: daughter, Gail & Neal Wise of Mineral City; granddaughter Marsha Ann Standiford of Newcomerstown and her fiance Brian Whitlach of Dover; two sisters, Jane Milburn of New Philadelphia and Wanda Erhart of Dover; and four brothers, James Kollar, William ''Bill'' Kollar & Vick Kollar all of New Philadelphia, and Fred Kollar of Dover.

In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charlotte Rae, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9, at 1:00pm in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Rev. Terry Kidd officiating. Interment will be in the New Cumberland Cemetery. It is requested that only family and close friends attend the visitation, which will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8pm.
