Velma Jean Gunnoe

Velma “Jean” Gunnoe, 86, of Dover, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. 

Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was everything to her and they will forever miss her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; William D. and Ruth (Holston) Gregory; her sister, Janette Colby (George); her daughter, Deborah Gunnoe, and her husband of almost 70 years, Woodrow Gunnoe. 

She leaves behind her children, Woodrow (Kim) Gunnoe Jr., Terri Gunnoe, and Sherri (Gregg) Burton; five grandchildren, Shane (Kelsie) Gunnoe, Tommy (Stephanie) Johnson, Amber (Ty) Starkey, Jackie (Rafa) Johnson, and Troy Gunnoe; along with seven great-grandchildren. 

Private services will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover for her immediate family. Burial will take place at Dover Burial Park next to Woodrow.
